Short Bytes: Facebook has just launched Facebook Sports Stadium, a second sports screen for you and your friends to discuss the game and feel connected. The Sports Stadium feature by Facebook is similar to Twitter’s Moments and provides a way to take part in the discussion in real time. Facebook Sports Stadium has been launched just in time for Super Bowl 50 and the NFL conference championships.

Many people love to talk to their friends about movies and TV shows while watching them. This gives them a more immersive experience as they are taking part in a live conversation. The same has been argued by Facebook from a long time.

Focusing more on the sports events, the world’s largest social network tonight launched Facebook Sports Stadium — a dedicated sports hub for you and your friends. This second screen aims to connect 650 million sports fans on Facebook, making it the world’s largest stadium.

At Facebook Sports stadium, you can celebrate, talk trash about your opponents, and indulge in a great experience. “Now we’ve built a place devoted to sports so you can get the feeling you’re watching the game with your friends even when you aren’t together,” Facebook wrote in a blog post.

This feature is being seen as a direct competition to Twitter’s very own service called Moments that shows tweets related to an event in the reverse chronological order. If you take a closer look at the screenshots, Sports Stadium has four tabs — one has play-by-play details, the second one has comments from your friends, the next one has comments from ‘experts’, and the final one has stats for the current event.
