Motorola Announces Android 6.0 Update For Moto G 3rd Generation
By Nivedit M
Perhaps as a new year’s gift to its patrons, Motorola recently announced the rolling out of Android Marshmallow to the third generation of the Motorola Moto G.
The third generation of the popular Moto G lineup was first launched back in July, 2015, and at the time it came with Android 5.1 Lollipop on board. While Lollipop was definitely the latest OS in town at that time, the launch of Marshmallow for Nexus devices did make Moto G users a little apprehensive.
Marshmallow comes with quite a few good features, including the Doze feature to save up on valuable battery life when the phone is in sleep mode, Google’s Now on Tap – a contextual feature which brings the power of Google Now to every screen on the device and also some aesthetic and performance changes to the overall system.
For Moto G 3rd Gen Users however, installing Android Marshmallow will remove the Migrate and Assist applications, since Motorola is discontinuing support for those applications in Marshmallow.
If you happen to be a Moto G 3rd Gen user, expect the update to come via an OTA within the next few weeks.
