A European probe has found massive ice deposits beneath the equator of Mars, a finding that could alter our fundamental understanding of the red planet’s climatic history.  The discovery was made by the European Space Agency’s Mars Express orbiter. A private space mission launched four European astronauts to the International Space Station on Thursday, in a milestone for a region desperate to boost its space credentials following a series of setbacks.   A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blasted the astronauts into orbit, launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The spacecraft is expected to arrive at the ISS in the early hours of January 20. Spanish astronaut Michael López-Alegría will lead the space crew. French startup Kermap has developed a ‘digital twin’ of the Earth that claims to offer the most up-to-date views of our home planet.  The programme is called Nimbo Earth Online and it is the only platform providing new satellite views of the world every month, without clouds. The European Parliament has called for more fairness and transparency in the music streaming sector, including better pay for smaller artists.  Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) overwhelmingly voted to adopt the new resolution on Wednesday.
